Coagulants

Ferric Chloride(CAS No. 7705-08-0,for drinking water)

Introduction:

Molecular Formula:FeCl3

Molecular Weight:162.21

Appearance:Reddish brown liquid

Properties

  • It’s extremely effective in removing high and low turbidity.
  • Requires a lower dosage than other sulfate based coagulants. It’s available at low cost.
  • The high iron content sludge produced is not considered hazardous to the environment. It is compatible and beneficial with many land application residual programs.
  • It can lead to quick formation of floc with big size and rapid precipitation, which avoids flocs unsetting down, reduces the flush frequency for filtration tank.
